This year we are participating in Culture days!
“Culture Days is a collaborative coast-to-coast-to-coast volunteer movement to raise the awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities. With the support of a National Steering Committee and volunteer Provincial and Territorial Task Forces, thousands of activity organizers self-mobilize at the grassroots level to present and coordinate free public activities that take place throughout the country over the last weekend of September each year.
The third annual Culture Days weekend will take place September 28, 29 and 30, 2012, and will feature thousands of free, hands-on, interactive activities that invite the public to participate “behind-the-scenes,” to discover the world of artists, creators, historians, architects, curators, designers and other creative people in their communities.”
We are opening up our print studio to the public on September 30th from 10am – 3pm, where there will be printmaking demonstrations and the selling hand pulled prints.
Where? 35 Stafford Rd, Ottawa, Ontario
While you are there make sure to check out our print studio artist exhibition by the main office area!
What a beautiful evening! Last night we had a great opening at La Nouvelle Scène. If you were not able to make it, our exhibit will be up until Oct. 13, 2012 at La Nouvelle Scène: 333 King Edward Avenue, Ottawa.
Here are some pictures!
Some of our members were also part of the amazing “Monster Printmaking Project” where printmakers used a steam roller to create Monster Sized Prints. There was an opportunity for the public to make a (supervised) print as well!
We are super excited to be participating in Ottawa’s first Nuit Blanche!
“In the darkest of times, artists have been able to shine light where there was none; capable of re-imagining the world as a perfect place where peace, love and equality reigns for all.”
