Ottawa-Gatineau Printmakers at Nuit Blanche September 20

Hundreds of people visited us at the Ottawa School of Art at Nuit Blanche!

Over 100 prints were made in the evening. Visitors who were unable to pick up their prints can pick them up at the Ottawa School of Art front desk reception during office hours until the 1st of October (please check www.artottawa.ca for their hours).

Many people contributed to making this a successful and memorable evening. The OSA lent us their studio, press and staff. Tina Petrovicz organized the event. Deidre Hierlihy and Jeff Stellick made linocuts for visitors who inked and printed them on the press. Members and friends of the Connective volunteered their time at Nuit Blanche – Jenny Waterman, Carol Steinberg, Emma Vogt, Sonia Chippindale, Rod Restivo, Madeline Rousseau, Shirley Yik, Katie Argyle, Tina Petrovicz, Marc Lavoie and Deidre Hierlihy.

Thanks to all of you and the hundreds of enthusiastic visitors!

As a member of the Ottawa-Gatineau Printmakers Connective, Rod Restivo has been influence by a response to nature (snowy owls reported in the area), a papier-mache mask (crafted years ago by his daughter), Japanese kimonos, a replica of a leather-straw trojan horse, clams on the sea coast, a small ladybug and roadside plants and bees in the Gatineau Hill.
